Two Services at Ascend

New Service Times: 8:30am & 10:30am
Starting Sunday, May 24, 2026

Why are we moving to two services?

In 2023, we temporarily moved to three services due to space limitations, especially in our kids ministry. However, this created challenges, including shorter worship services, less time for fellowship, and an extra burden on those serving across all services.

Starting May 24, we are returning to two services. This strengthens a rhythm of gospel opportunities:

  • Worshipping Together: And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24–25)
  • Serving One Another: As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 4:10-11)

What will it look like?

Beginning Sunday, May 24, Ascend will offer two services for Sunday morning worship at 8:30 and 10:30am.

How can I help?

Pick Up Kids Promptly – Please help us keep our kids ministry running smoothly by picking up your children within 10 minutes of the service ending.

Be Intentional with Parking – If you are attending both services, consider parking farther away and help create space for guests.

Encourage & Engage – Pray that our ministry leaders will be able to fill their needs—and be a part of the answer! Engage in fellowship: meet someone new and follow up.

Volunteer Needs

While the number of services is decreasing, the number of people we’re serving is not.

Our teams still need committed, faithful people showing up each week to make Sunday mornings run well and feel welcoming. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to get involved, this is the perfect time. Join us as we worship and serve together!

What will be different about the services?

Our services will be 1 hour and 30 minutes (on average), an increase of 15 minutes, which will allow us to do a little more in service together each Sunday. 

How will this impact Ascend Kids Ministry?

Will the same preacher deliver both messages?

Yes. While other churches have chosen to have environmental or thematic shifts from different service times, our two services will both appear similar and focus on expositional preaching. No matter the time you select each week, you will experience the same type of service and depth of preaching.

Are there additional volunteer opportunities?

Yes! Serving opportunities extend beyond Sunday morning. Areas such as Small Groups, Soul Care, and the men’s and women’s ministry also offer opportunities to serve.

How can I be praying during this transition?
