Your kids should be able to flourish in a safe and biblical environment.

Ascend Kids ministry provides a safe place for children to learn the truths of the gospel and biblical principles in age-appropriate ways – while having fun. We use a curriculum designed to instill in children the love, faith, and knowledge that will one day lead to righteous living.

Sundays, 8:30 & 10:30 am

Infants (Birth–12 months)

A calm, caring space where our littlest ones are held, prayed for, and comforted. Volunteers provide gentle play, soothing music, and love to the kids, so that parents can worship with peace of mind. Diaper changes follow our safety and hygiene guidelines.

1-Year-Olds

Our walkers get a safe room to move, stack, and discover! We sing simple worship songs, enjoy sensory play, and learn to share with others. Diaper changes and snacks follow parent preferences and posted allergy guidelines.

2-Year-Olds

Busy explorers who do best through play and repetition. We enjoy check-in routines, a short prayer, small Worship, a brief Bible story with visuals, and guided activities (snack and playground). Potty/diaper needs are handled by policy and communicated at pick-up.

3-Year-Olds

This class bridges play and structured learning. Kids enjoy welcome time, their own Mini Worship Hour, playground/bathroom break, a hands-on Bible lesson with snack, and music. We focus on kindness, sharing, and simple memory truths.

Pre-K & Kindergarten

Pre-K kids are ready for bigger stories and big feelings! We participate in Littles Worship Hour together, hear the Bible story, talk about what it means, and respond with small group discussion. We lean into how to read the bible, and have some fun play time! Leaders highlight one big truth for the month to reinforce at home.

1st - 3rd Grades

In the Bigs classroom, we focus on moving from curiosity to discipleship. After check-in, all 1st–3rd graders participate in our Bigs Worship Hour together for high-energy praise and teaching. Afterward, we break into age-appropriate small groups: early readers (1st Grade) focus on a simple gospel connection and prayer, while our growing disciples (2nd–3rd Grade) practice opening their Bibles to tackle scripture and “live it out” challenges. Whether through group discussion or creative activities, every week is designed to help kids remember and share God’s Word.

Parents
  • Bring your phone (we will contact you if the need arises)

Infants-2yr olds
  • Diaper bag with diapers/pull-ups, wipes, and a labeled bottle or sippy cup
  • Change of clothes (for spills or accidents)
3 Year Olds–3rd Grade
  • Bible (We open it every week)
  • Green Lighted on our Sickness policy
  • Jacket/Coat labeled (weather dependent)
  • Ready-to-learn attitude

Ascend Kids Curriculum

Ascend Kids Registration

Step 1:

Register online ahead of time or before Sunday services at the Ascend Kids Welcome Desk. Complete check-in with a volunteer at the desk. At check-in, your child will receive a name tag sticker. You will receive a corresponding parent tag required for pick-up.

Step 2:

Drop your child off at their age-appropriate class. A volunteer will be available to assist you in finding the correct classroom.

Step 3:

Pick your child up after the service at their age-appropriate classroom. Don’t forget to bring your parent tag from check-in – we require it for the security of all children!

Pre-Register Your Child

When you arrive at Ascend Church, head straight to the Ascend Kids Welcome Center.  Classes are offered during the 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 AM services.

Yes! At Ascend Kids, we use The Gospel Project curriculum, which is designed with age-appropriate lessons for every stage. Each class connects kids to biblical truth in ways they can understand, without watering it down.

Our Ascend Kids leadership team is specially chosen to serve your family. We value kids program staff who love Jesus and desire to show that love to your children while utilizing the best practices in both teaching and child safety.

Each staff member is properly trained to ensure a safe and secure environment for children in our Sunday morning ministry activities.

To prioritize your child’s safety, we have created security policies and procedures to provide a safe environment at Ascend. We have a first-aid team on notice, an abuse policy in place, and overall care and control of all areas where children are present. 

All Ascend Kids staff undergo a detailed application process that includes a thorough background check. 

Our Kids programs are divided by age group so that each child is safe and able to understand the curriculum. 

We have implemented a system which will notify you during the service if you are needed in your child’s class. 

At Ascend Kids, we care about keeping kids and volunteers healthy. Please check our sickness policy if you’re unsure whether your child is ready to attend.
