Wellspring-a fountain, a spring, a source of continual supply.

Are you thirsty for truth?  Are you ready to come to the water for encouragement, challenge, and refreshment? Join us for Wellspring, the 4th Annual Ascend Women’s Conference!

Becky Willey, our guest speaker this year, is from Coram Deo Church in Davenport, IA. Becky will use God’s word to help us discover that when Christ is our source, He makes all things new!

In our first session, Becky will talk about our new identity from Ephesians 1.  It’s one thing to know that God makes us into a new creation.  It’s another thing altogether to embrace this truth and live like we believe it.

In addition to our new identity, we also receive new marching orders!  God’s Word tells us in Colossians 2 that after we have received Christ, we are to walk in Him. Are you doing that?  Are you walking your talk?  Do you even know what that means?  Join us as we learn 10 ways we can walk in Christ and then examine our lives for evidence of these truths lived out.  This is where the rubber meets the road!

Come to the living water and leave ready to glorify God not only in who you are but also in how you walk!

This event is 9am-4pm at Ascend. The cost is $40.  Lunch from Chipotle, snacks, and drinks will be provided. The cafe will be available for purchased drinks. Lunch will be served from Chipotle. Registration includes breakout session descriptions and will ask you to choose. Be sure to choose! Come early for a drink from the cafe, doors open at 8:30am!

Looking Back to Walk Forward with Cynthia Olson

Cynthia will use Psalm 77 (and also possibly Psalm 84) and a book titled “The Blessing Book” by Linda Dillow and create a talk about remembering God’s character, and His past faithfulness to encourage and strengthen us in continuing to walk faithfully and joyfully with Jesus. She will share some personal examples in her life, like being widowed, and a grandson born with cerebral palsy as to how remembering God’s faithfulness and His character has been so instrumental to her in strengthening my faith and love for our Father.

God’s divine power has granted us all things that pertain to life and godliness, including a battle with food!

Faithful in the Mundane with Jordan Petty

Do you get bogged down in the menial tasks of life? Do you find yourself expectantly waiting for a “greater” purpose? We can easily recount the famous men and women of the Bible and their big God moments, but what about the boring everyday? How did they live in the in-between? Join Jordan as we study these men and women and look at the practical examples of how they remained faithful in the day-to-day.

A Changed Life on Full Display with Joyce Setiawan

“I don’t like change”, “Change is so hard, ugh!”, “Why do I have to change?” Some of us (me!) may have said one of these statements. Change is not something that comes easy for any of us, but being Christ’s followers, change is not an option – it’s a requirement. When we claim that we are Christians, Christ should be on display in our lives. How has Jesus Christ changed your life? When others see your life, are they seeing Christ put on display? We will look at Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae together to discover the practical application for a changed life today.
Passage: Colossians 3:1-17

Taming the Unruly with Zee Leichtenburg

In the midst of frustrating moments, you may find your speech to be far from Christlike. You raise your voice, say something unkind, a sarcastic remark, make a rude comment, gossip, and even tell lies. At that moment, it may seem impossible to control the tongue, but in the book of James, we find hope. Join me as we explore the power of the tongue and how our new identity in Christ makes it possible to tame the untamable.

The Crazy Busy Mom’s Guide to Resuscitating, Rejuvenating, and Renewing Your Prayer Life with Ann Holman

Have the kids’ schedules taken over? There’s seemingly not enough time in a day to come sit, be still, and enjoy the presence of the Lord??! You Are A Theologian with Haley Williams

Notice I did not ask you if you were a theologian. I already know the answer to that. The question is not whether you are a theologian but rather, “Are you a good one?”
Theology can seem intimidating. Maybe you have wondered if it’s really something you can engage with or have any business learning. Maybe you tend to feel safer sticking with devotionals and podcasts that TELL YOU what is true rather than encouraging you to dig in for yourself. Maybe you’re not even *exactly* sure what theology is.
In this breakout, we’ll examine what it means to be a theologian, how to make sure your worldview is conformed to the Word rather than the world and why it is critical that we as women have a strong grasp on theology so we can know and love God (and others) well.
Join me as we explore how to be good theologians in today’s world.

Do you wrestle with abidingwith Christ and practicing hospitality? Join Julie as we look at a tale of two sisters and learn how to balance the acts of work and worship while resting at our Savior’s feet.

Enduring to the End with Maggie McKinley

When it comes to something daunting or something that is going to take some serious endurance to get to the end it is much easier to believe it can be done if we know someone who has done it before us! Like running a marathon, having a baby, staying married until you are old, dealing with chronic illness or pain, or losing weight. Hebrews does a fantastic job of giving us the encouragement to endure and to endure with joy to the end. Join me as we learn from Hebrews 12 about enduring to the end.
